Made from scratch, right here in Ojai, using organic cream, milk and eggs, and fresh fruit from locally owned farms.  Focusing on local seasonal flavors, we try to source as much as we can from our own farmer's market.

Like bread, gelato tastes best right after it’s made. So keeping it in a freezer for days while it's transported and stored is no good. That’s why we make ours in house, in small batches, every day. Because that means we can serve it truly fresh, just the way it’s supposed to be.


Only natural ingredients, sourced from trusted suppliers, get into our gelato. This means you know exactly what you're eating, and, whenever possible, it'll be from somewhere really close to Ojai. 


We love to experiment. We try new flavours, combinations and textures. We have fun doing that! The result? A gelato experience that will surprise you and put a smile on your face. :)


We make our gelato just like in the old days. Visit us at the farmer's market, let us cater your next event, or we'll deliver to you (provided we can get there of course!).



Treat your friends and family to hand-crafted, artisanal gelato and dairy free sorbettos. Sanders & Sons can cater events of any size, from large, formal affairs to casual outdoor barbecues.

Your discerning guests will appreciate our gelato and dairy free sorbets made with organic ingredients and grass-fed milk. We offer more than 40 flavors—including plenty of dairy-free, vegan options. We can also work with your caterer to provide our desserts at weddings, birthdays, graduations, corporate events, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs or celebrations of any size.

Sanders & Sons’ full service gelato catering involves your choice of four to eight gelato and sorbetto flavors brought to you in our beautiful Italian portable freezer and served by our professional catering team. 

Gelato catering starts at $500 + expenses relative to attendance and menu, transportation, and serving hours.

The idea for Sanders & Sons gelato was born out of a family Thanksgiving visit to New York in 2015 which was unexpectedly extended by a week.  What are ice cream fanatics to do with plenty of time on our hands?  Ice Cream Crawl!

Hitting four or five artisanal ice cream shops a day,  we were impressed by the creativity and fun being scooped in Manhattan and Brooklyn. We tried everything we could get our hands on, often ordering everything on the menu.  After the ice cream crawl, we decided to bring this passion for quality and fun to Southern California with the added twist of delivering our frozen desserts directly to our customers' door.

Inspired by Italian artisanal gelato producers. We make our gelato from scratch, using organic cream, milk and eggs, fresh fruit from locally owned farms, focusing on local, seasonal flavors.

Sanders & Sons founder Sanders Marvin is a food entrepreneur and gelato maker working to become a certified ‘master gelatiere’ with Carpigiani’s Gelato University in Bologna Italy.  He has studied frozen dessert making at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Agricultural Sciences and with Maria Coassin of Seattle's famous Gelatiamo restaurant at Pike Place.  He earned an MBA from the University of Minnesota and studied at the Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program.

Sanders & Sons is in the process of building our Ojai based dairy processing facility and expects to be open to by the end of September 2019.
